Privacy Policy

1. Scope and Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how BitTrib (“BitTrib,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with B.O.B.™ The Meeting App, also known as Business Operations Bridge (“B.O.B.”), the B.O.B. website pages, support communications, planned subscriptions and related services.

BitTrib is the owner and publisher of B.O.B. and is based in Virginia, United States. For privacy questions or requests, contact info@bittrib.com.

2. Privacy at a Glance

• B.O.B. requests camera and microphone permission to enumerate devices, display a local camera preview and show a local microphone level meter.
• B.O.B. does not record or upload meeting audio or video.
• Profiles, hardware preferences, device test results and supported-app detection are designed to operate locally unless a user intentionally enables a future synchronization or cloud feature.
• We do not sell personal information.
• Advertising is not currently active. If introduced for B.O.B. Free, it will be contextual, appear only on the dashboard and will not use camera, microphone, meeting, profile or hardware information for targeting.

3. Information B.O.B. Handles

Information Processed Locally on Your Device

B.O.B. may locally process profile names and settings; available camera, microphone and speaker names and status; device test results; selected default or preferred devices; stored meeting preferences; locally detected supported conferencing applications or processes; camera-preview frames; and microphone-level measurements.

Camera-preview frames and microphone-level measurements are used to provide the requested local preview or meter. They are not recorded, retained as meeting content or uploaded to BitTrib.

Account and Subscription Information

If accounts or subscriptions are activated, we may receive an email address, account identifier, selected plan, entitlement status, transaction status and limited purchase metadata. Payments may be processed by Microsoft or another authorized payment provider. BitTrib does not receive or store full payment-card numbers from those providers.

Synchronization Information

If a user chooses a future encrypted synchronization feature, B.O.B. may transmit the profile and preference information selected for synchronization. The application will identify the feature and request any permissions required before synchronization occurs.

Support and Communications

We collect information a person chooses to send to us, such as name, email address, support request, screenshots, diagnostic files or other correspondence. Users should avoid including meeting content or other unnecessary sensitive information in a support request.

Website Analytics and Diagnostic Information

Our website and hosting providers may automatically process IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested, timestamps and basic security or access logs. We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand website traffic and engagement. These services may process browser and device information, pages visited, referring pages, approximate location derived from an IP address and interaction data, and may use cookies or similar technologies.

Website analytics does not receive B.O.B. camera images, microphone content, meeting content, locally stored profiles or hardware preferences, and BitTrib does not use those categories of information for advertising. B.O.B. may process limited application version, operating-system, error or crash information when diagnostic reporting is enabled or when a user provides it to support.

4. Camera, Microphone and Meeting Data

B.O.B. is a meeting-preparation and device-readiness utility, not a meeting-recording service. Camera and microphone access is used only for user-directed device discovery, local preview, local level metering and future virtual-device features selected by the user.

B.O.B. does not listen to, analyze, transcribe, record, store or upload meeting conversations. It does not use camera images, microphone content or meeting participation for advertising.

Conferencing applications operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Opening or using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, WebEx, Chimes, Slack or another third-party service through or alongside B.O.B. does not make BitTrib responsible for that service’s data practices.

5. How We Use Information

• Provide profiles, device discovery, device testing, stored preferences and supported-application detection.
• Apply user-selected settings and prepare a meeting environment.
• Provide, secure, maintain and improve B.O.B. and its website.
• Administer accounts, entitlements, subscriptions and customer support when those services are available.
• Diagnose failures, prevent abuse and protect users, BitTrib and the service.
• Comply with law, enforce agreements and respond to valid legal requests.
• Send product or service communications requested by the user.

6. Advertising

Advertising is not currently active in B.O.B. Before advertising is activated, BitTrib will confirm the final implementation and update this policy as needed.

If contextual business-technology advertising is introduced in B.O.B. Free:

• Ads will appear only within a designated area of the dashboard.
• Ads will never cover or interrupt camera previews, device controls, permission notices or meetings.
• Camera, microphone, meeting, profile and hardware information will not be used to select, personalize or measure ads.
• B.O.B. will not use behavioral advertising based on activity across unrelated apps or services.

Users will be given any notice or choice required by applicable law before a materially different advertising practice is introduced.

7. When We Disclose Information

BitTrib may disclose limited information to service providers that help us host the website, deliver email, process authorized payments or subscriptions, provide customer support, secure the service or operate an optional synchronization feature. Those providers may use information only to perform services for BitTrib and are subject to appropriate contractual restrictions.

We may also disclose information when required to comply with law or a valid legal process; protect the rights, safety and security of users, BitTrib or others; investigate fraud or abuse; complete a merger, financing, acquisition or transfer of business assets subject to appropriate notice and protections; or when a user directs or consents to the disclosure.

BitTrib does not sell personal information for money. BitTrib does not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Local profiles and preferences remain on the device until the user deletes them through B.O.B., clears the application’s data or uninstalls the application, subject to operating-system behavior. Local previews and level-meter data are not retained as meeting content.

Support communications, account records, subscription records and security logs are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including support, security, dispute resolution, legal compliance and financial recordkeeping. Retention periods may vary by record type and applicable law.

Users may request deletion of personal information controlled by BitTrib by emailing info@bittrib.com. We may need to verify the request and may retain information when legally required or permitted.

9. Security

BitTrib uses reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. These may include access restrictions, secure development practices, encryption in transit for network services and encryption for a future profile-synchronization feature.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Users are responsible for securing their Windows account, device, Microsoft account and any third-party meeting accounts.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where a user lives and whether applicable legal thresholds are met, the user may have rights to confirm whether BitTrib processes personal data; access or obtain a copy; correct inaccuracies; delete information; and opt out of targeted advertising, sale or certain profiling.

Virginia residents may have rights under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, including rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of qualifying personal data and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale or certain profiling. B.O.B. does not currently sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising.

Submit a request to info@bittrib.com. State the type of request and the email address associated with the relevant account or communication. We may verify identity before completing a request. If applicable law provides an appeal right, a user may appeal a denied request by replying to the decision and stating “Privacy Appeal.” We will not discriminate against a user for exercising a privacy right.

11. Children’s Privacy

B.O.B. is a business and productivity application and is not directed to children under 13. BitTrib does not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If we learn that such information was collected without required parental consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

A parent or guardian who believes a child provided personal information to BitTrib should contact info@bittrib.com.

12. International Users

BitTrib is based in the United States. If a user accesses an online B.O.B. service from another country, information may be processed in the United States or another country where BitTrib or its service providers operate. Where required, BitTrib will use an appropriate transfer mechanism and provide rights required by applicable law.

13. Microsoft Store and Third-Party Services

B.O.B. may be distributed through Microsoft Store. Microsoft may process store-account, download, purchase, licensing, device or diagnostic information under Microsoft’s own privacy terms. BitTrib receives only the information Microsoft makes available to the publisher for operating and supporting B.O.B.

Links to or detection of third-party conferencing applications do not mean BitTrib receives data from those applications. Each third party independently controls its service and privacy practices.

14. Changes to This Policy

BitTrib may update this policy as B.O.B. changes or legal requirements evolve. We will post the revised version at this URL and update the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide additional notice where required.
